Project Overview
The Syed Dairy Farm was established in 2014 as a sole proprietorship concern by Syed Iqbal Shah resident of Saeedabad District Matiari, Sindh. He is an educated person and Agriculturist by profession. Client owns approximately 700 acres of Agriland where he grows Banana, Maize, Wheat and Rice & Fodder crops. Maize is mainly utilized for Silage making for dairy animals. He started dairy business in 2014 with 7-10 animals (Cows – Australian breed). In a span of 6-8 years, the animal herd size has reached to around 300 animals (cows) (Milking, Dry, Heifers and calves) through fresh purchases and breeding of own animals (client also owns 50 buffaloes in the farm). Dairy farm is spread over 3 Acres of land. Full time Veterinary Doctor is also available at the farm to look after the animal health related issues and timely vaccination.
Client had an agreement with “Engro Foods” for milk collection. This year he has signed agreement with a local company M/s “Shaheen Dairy Farm” due to low rate offered by Engro Foods. Daily milk production of the client is 2,500 liters approx. For Feed, client grows the Maize on about 100 acres and prepares Silage at his premises. He has also installed a small scale feed mill unit and TMR feed mixing machine for making feed. Other feed materials like Wanda, Corn, and Sheera etc. are purchased from the market.
SEDF’s Assistance
Future plan is to take the farm into next level by installation of milk pasteurization unit & establishment of his own brand and supply it directly to the end users in Hyderabad city through dedicated sales points as there is a huge gap between demand and supply of quality milk in Hyderabad.
